Paws in the Park – Fort Thomas

Pooch Parade led by Mayor Wilbur

As summer heats up, so do the pet events around Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky. This past weekend saw several pet events around town, including the Paws in the Park and Pooch Parade event held at Tower Park in Fort Thomas.

Paws in the Park, a dog-friendly event hosted by Campbell County FURever Friends and the City of Fort Thomas, featured vendors selling everything from fresh-made lemonade and dog treats to home decor and dog accessories. There were several rescues with adoptable dogs, as well. Held in Fort Thomas’s scenic Tower Park, the three-hour long event started at 5 p.m. so as to not only not interfere with PetFest in Burlington but to take advantage of the cooler part of a hot day.

Making a special appearance was Mayor Wilbur, the canine mayor of Rabbit Hash. Wilbur led the Pooch Parade filled with dogs (and owners) dressed in patriotic attire. The Pooch Parade was hosted by Ashley Dawn of B105.
