Oreo: HART

CincyPet Magazine's Rescue Dog of the Week

Meet Oreo! Oreo came to HART from one of our rural partner shelters. Can you believe this gal was living outside? That has all changed now and Oreo is ready to be the best inside dog around.

Oreo is very sweet and loves to cuddle next to her humans on the couch. Oreo has the cutest smile where she loves to show all her teeth, it is very amusing. She also loves running around the yard with her fur friends. Oreo has met several pups in her foster home of all different sizes and has done great but she definitely prefers the ones smaller to her. Oreo is a quiet gal at her foster home and although not a fan of her crate she does well in it.

Oreo came to HART needing a mammary tumor removed and needing to be spayed. Oreo’s mammary tumor did come back positive for cancer however the mass was completely excised and the vet predicted a less than five percent chance it would return. Oreo definitely has something to celebrate! Paperwork will be provided from the vet.

Oreo is the perfect medium size gal at about forty pounds. We are guessing she is possibly a rat terrier/basenji/heeler mix. She has the cutest nub tail as well.

We have estimated Oreo to be about five years old. Oreo is not fostered with kids but does have a very sweet disposition. We are saying no cats and small critters for our gal Oreo. She seems very interested in the chickens at her foster’s neighbor’s house on the other side of the privacy fence.

Oreo is an expert at wiggling out of her collar so for that reason her foster mom fitted her with a martingale collar that we would love an adopter to use.

If interested in Oreo apply today at www.rescueahart.org to meet this gal today!

All HART dogs are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up to date on all vaccines, including bordetella and rabies. They are heartworm tested and on preventative for heartworm, fleas, and ticks. If you are interested in any of our pets, you must complete an online dog adoption application at www.rescueAhart.org. The application will put you in touch with this wonderful dog’s foster family so you can schedule a meeting.
