Lisa Desatnik, CPDT-KA, CPBC, is a certified dog trainer through the internationally recognized Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers; and, is a certified Fear Free Dog Training Professional. She is also a certified parrot behavior consultant. An animal lover her entire life, she began studying Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) as it relates to helping pets and their people succeed over 17 years ago; and continually takes courses from leading positive trainers and behaviorists.
Lisa offers individualized coaching on dog and puppy training, as well as one-on-one training for pets, using and teaching the most positive strategies for dog manners behaviors as well as solving and preventing pet problem behaviors. For families with children, she applies lessons from her My Dog’s Super Hero curriculum to teach how dogs communicate, and how to be a safe and positive dog teacher and friend. Dr. Katie Hogan is a full-time veterinarian at Grady Veterinary Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio. She works with dogs, cats, and exotic companion animals and is dedicated to furthering the human-animal bond. In her free time, she creates online content for her blog, KatieHoganDVM.com, which is dedicated to helping pets, pet parents, and veterinarians live the best lives imaginable.
Dr. Katie is originally from Frankfort, Kentucky. She went to Murray State University for her undergraduate studies and obtained a bachelor’s of science degree in agriculture. She attended Auburn University for veterinary school, graduating in 2016. Outside of veterinary medicine, Dr. Katie enjoys horseback riding, camping, and kayaking. She lives in Kentucky with her wife and their five pets: three dogs, two cats, and a lizard named Buckley.
SUSANNA HINKLE SCHWARTZ, DVM, DIPLOMATE, ACVS-SA, is a board-certified Veterinary Surgeon at MedVet Cincinnati, where she has been part of the medical team since 2011. Dr. Schwartz maintains an interest in all aspects of small animal surgery, with particular interests in spinal surgeries and fractures, complicated soft tissue surgeries, and arthroscopy. She is devoted to ensuring each patient receives the best care possible for the ideal long-term outcome.
MICHAEL DELLA RIPA, DVM, DIPLOMATE, ACVIM (SAIM), is a board-certified veterinary Internal Medicine Specialist at MedVet Cincinnati who has been part of the medical team since 2010. He attended the University of New Haven where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree and Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine where he earned his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree. He has trained with veterinary specialists at Louisiana State University, Virginia Tech and Angell Memorial in Boston.
KARL C. MARITATO, DVM, DIPLOMATE, ACVS-SA, is a board-certified Veterinary Surgeon at MedVet Cincinnati, where he has been part of the medical team since 2010. Dr. Maritato attended the University of Florida, where he earned two Bachelor of Science degrees. At Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine, he earned his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree, graduating with highest honors and at the top of his class. After completing his residency and becoming a board-certified Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Surgeons, he played an integral role in the development and introduction of new surgical options for the Cincinnati community.
JENNIFER (JENNY) WELLS, DVM, DIPLOMATE, ACVIM (SAIM), is a board-certified veterinary Internal Medicine Specialist at MedVet Cincinnati where she has been part of the medical team since 2011. Dr. Wells attended Texas A&M University where she earned her Bachelor of Science degree and a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree graduating Magna Cum Laude. Following her graduation from veterinary school, Dr. Wells completed a yearlong internship in small animal medicine and surgery at VCA Alameda East Veterinary Hospital in Denver and a three-year residency in small animal internal medicine at the University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine.
MAGGIE SCHUCKMAN, DVM, DIPLOMATE, ACVIM (Cardiology), is a board-certified Veterinary Cardiologist at MedVet Cincinnati and MedVet Lexington, where she has been part of the cardiology team since 2015. Dr. Schuckman attended The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine where she earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree. Following her graduation from veterinary school, Dr. Schuckman completed a yearlong internship in small animal medicine and surgery at Michigan Veterinary Specialists and a three-year residency in small animal cardiology at the University of Guelph, Guelph, Ontario.
